Smart Training Limited offers government-funded workplace training that builds core skills, supports business growth, and improves systems — at no cost to you.

We manage everything from start to finish:
✔ Identifying training needs
✔ Designing and delivering tailored programmes
✔ Developing resources and managing reporting
✔ Ensuring long-term training success

All training is delivered by qualified New Zealand trainers and can support NZQA Level 2 & 3 qualifications or act as a bridge to higher learning.

Why this funding exists:

The Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Fund helps employees in low-skilled roles strengthen their reading, writing, speaking, and number skills — directly linked to their everyday work. It’s designed to improve communication, confidence, and productivity on the job.

Who can receive funding?

To access Employer Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (EWLN) funding, you must:
🔹 Provide training to at least 20 employees (as a single employer or in a consortium).
🔹 Ensure each learner is:

• A Domestic Student in the paid workforce

• Assessed as having low literacy/numeracy skills via the LNAAT tool

  • Below Step 4 for reading and/or below Step 5 for numeracy

• Not enrolled in:

  • Secondary school full-time

  • A Level 4+ qualification or apprenticeship

  • Another TEC-funded literacy/numeracy programme

Delivery Requirements

📘 Training must include 25–80 hours per learner, depending on individual needs
⏱️ Minimum delivery intensity: 40 hours over 10–40 weeks
(Unless prior written approval is obtained for a lower intensity)
